Christine has spent the past 12 years cooking, having an absolute
passion for food, wine, and everything in between. She is
a self-taught chef who has worked in restaurants from a young
age and has been surrounded by some incredible and well-respected
chefs in the industry. She believes that going to restaurant
or having a dinner should be an experience.
Believing in a "farm to fork" and "ocean to
plate" philosophy, Christine uses everything that the
island of Nantucket provides for The ACK Experience. She spends
her time cooking, menu planning, managing staff, building
and fostering relationships with farms, sourcing food from
local farmers markets and local farms, and delivering food
to clients.
The
ACK Experience specializes in creating experiences that
you will remember during your short stay or seasonal stay
on Nantucket. The ACK Experience offers culinary bike tours,
private chef-led dinners, oyster & wine cocktail parties
by the shore, porch or poolside! With The ACK Experience
your guide, you can take advantage of all that Nantucket
has to offer, explore its culinary specialities and eat
delicious local food. In addition, Christine works with
Nantucket Blooms, harvesting crops for local restaurants,
like Ventuno, Straight Wharf Restaurant, and American Seasons.
Christine is also involved with the Sustainable Nantucket
Organization.
During
the off season, Christine resides and works in Boston, employing
the same philosophy with her clients in the New England and
Mid-Atlantic areas. Her focus over this time has been on local,
sustainable farming and sourcing of food/products in Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and the Hudson Valley.
Christine
has been building and fostering relationships with small farms
in the New England Area, sourcing all of her food from local
farmers markets to local farms (including seafood), and delivering
food to her clients. Some of these farms included Astarte
Farm (Amherst), Stillman Farm (Hardwick), Boisvert Farm (South
Hadley), Red Fire Farm (Granby), cheese purveyors such as
Robinson Farms (Hardwick), Smith Country Cheese (Winchendon),
Shady Oaks Organics (Newburyport), Nantucket Oysters, Island
Creek Oysters, Clams, Mussels (Duxbury), Cellars at Jasper
Hill (VT), artisan breadmakers Rose 32 (Hardwick), and Oak
Summit Vineyard (NY).
